IAATW stands with the people of Palestine and calls for governments to stop arming Israel!

Read the statement:

The International Alliance of App-Based Transport Workers (IAATW), representing over 100,000 app-based drivers across 18 countries and 6 continents, condemns all the killing of innocent and Palestinian and Israeli civilians.

As workers, we stand in solidarity with the thousands of blameless workers, the infirm, children, women, and men who bear the brunt of brutal violence and humanitarian catastrophe that will do nothing to build lasting peace and justice for the workers and families of the region.

It must be said that at the root of this conflict is the system of apartheid imposed by the Israeli Government over Palestinians through the course of this 75-year-old conflict.

Escalations to this recent conflict by Netanyahu's government have included specific actions such as cutting off food, water and fuel to millions of residents of Gaza and endless bombings of civilian targets. These actions amount to war crimes and represent a huge existential humanitarian crisis.

In this crisis, we call our World leaders - Biden, Sunak, Macron and van der Leyen - who have turned a blind eye to the scale of Palestinian suffering and stand only in support of teh IDF's and Netanyahu's actions. Such support has also included hostility and repression of the popular anti-war sentiment that has erupted on the streets worldwide.

We join our brothers and sisters of the trade union movement in Palestine to call on all governments worldwide, especially the Untied States, to stop arming the IDF and Netanyahu's cruelty. We stand in solidarity with every protest across the world an urge the workers' movements in every country to join in protest to stand up against this cruel war, to cease the punishment and killing of civilians, and to insist on humanitarian solutions of peace and justice in the region.
